How to get your statement
Sign in to your bank or card online, open the account's transactions, and look for Download or Export. Pick CSV (or Excel, or Quicken/QFX) and the longest date range it offers. Do the same for each card you pay subscriptions with, then drop them all in together.
What it looks for
- Things you pay for regularly: the same company charging about every month or every year, at about the same amount.
- Price rises: something that used to cost the same every time and now costs more.
- Possible double charges: the same amount to the same company on the same card within a few days.
- Yearly renewals coming up: annual plans due back in the next two months, so you can cancel before they charge.
Is my statement safe?
Your statement is read in your own browser and never sent anywhere. Close the page and it's gone. Nothing is saved and you don't need an account.
